What is the best diet for someone training to become a boxer?

I am 25 about 273lbs. I’ve been training with Billy “The Kid” Costello for about a month now. And I was wondering what other boxers diets are. I’ve already lost about 15lbs training. But I want to get a in stone diet that I can put into play so I don’t get pulled back into all the junk food and crap. Thanks!

If you are looking for a training diet where you lose weight, go with a Hispanic diet of beans and rice with chicken mostly and then a little bit of red meat once or twice a week. Look at Puerto Rican boxers for how to train since they are normally not heavy weights.

Keep sweating in the gym, sweat bag and hopefully your gym is kept hot. I have all of my guys stop drinking energy drinks, soda and everything but water. All meals with water period.

I don’t have them change what they eat but have them eat smaller portions. I have 2 kids come in 3 months ago. Kid (A) was 277 and 6″3″ today 243, kid and will get down to 220 by years end. This is our goal weight.

Kid (B) was 251 and 5″5″. Today is 180 and this is within 3 months. Our goal weight by years end 147.

Smaller portions of the same thing that they always ate so that they don’t have those cravings and just work hard sweating you tail off and only drink water.

Good Luck!!!
